Our founder and principal is Timothy John Brears LLB(NZ) who is a solicitor of the High Courts of Hong Kong and New Zealand and also admitted to practice in the United Kingdom. After practicing as a partner in a New Zealand firm firm for 15 years he moved to Hong Kong. He has practiced commercial law in Hong Kong from 1986 to 1997 but returned to New Zealand in 1998 to set up the present firm while remaining a member of a local Hong Kong legal firm. Work in Hong Kong included securities work for listed Companies, taxation planning, trusts, estate planning and a wide range of other corporate and commercial work, including joint ventures in Hong Kong and China and other cross border work. Mr Brears is a practicing member of the local legal firm Joseph Chu, Lo & Lau, Solicitors and Notaries, Hong Kong and where necessary Mr. Brears undertakes Hong Kong work through the firm. Mr. Brears is in Hong Kong regularly and can be contacted through the local Hong Kong office.
